The Local Marketing Company Ltd (TLMC) has been named as a finalist in the New Business of the Year category at this year’s prestigious Hampshire Business Awards, recognising the company’s exceptional growth, innovation, and impact since its launch less than two years ago.
Founded in November 2023 by 20-year-old Dmitrijs Meiksans, TLMC has quickly established itself as a dynamic and trusted communications agency working with a diverse portfolio of clients across Hampshire and beyond.
Specialising in social media management, video production, advertising sales, PR, and event marketing, the agency has seen turnover grow dramatically in the last year, now boasting a team of three.
Since its inception, TLMC has built an impressive client list, including a senior Parliamentarian, for whom the agency manages communications and social media strategy, as well as a Guildford-based technology company operating internationally. TLMC also assists with advertising sales for seven Modern Magazines titles across Hampshire, and has recently delivered the Local Artist Showcase at CarFest 2025 - one of the UK’s largest family festivals.
Dmitrijs Meiksans, director of The Local Marketing Company, said, “Being recognised as a finalist for New Business of the Year is an incredible honour. This nomination is a reflection of the hard work, creativity, and community focus that define everything we do. From supporting local businesses to working with national partners, our mission has always been to bring people-led storytelling to the forefront of marketing. To be acknowledged alongside other outstanding Hampshire businesses is truly special.”
What sets the marketing company apart is its local-first approach - pioneering innovative and authentic storytelling for clients ranging from small businesses and community organisations to national festivals and global brands. The agency also places a strong emphasis on community impact, supporting Yellow Brick Road Projects, a Hampshire charity for young people experiencing homelessness and feelings of loneliness, and sponsoring local initiatives such as the Test Valley Business Awards.
The Hampshire Business Awards celebrate business excellence across the county, recognising organisations that demonstrate exceptional performance, innovation, and contribution to the local economy. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in November at Old Thorns Hotel and Resort in Liphook.
