The Local Marketing Company partners with CarFest on new artist showcase

Festival-goers in The Oasis at CarFest

CarFest presented by bp pulse, the UK’s biggest family fundraising festival, is proud to unveil a brand-new creative initiative for 2025, the CarFest Local Artist Showcase, to shine a spotlight on Hampshire’s vibrant artistic talent as part of this summer’s CarFest, taking place from 22nd - 24th August.

Founded by Virgin Radio presenter Chris Evans, CarFest offers visitors a weekend of fabulous entertainment for the whole family. Festival-goers can experience six distinct festivals sited across the 500-acre site: StarFest (celebrity guests and expert talks), FoodFest, SpaFest, KidsFest, RetroFest, and CarFest itself - showcasing breathtaking vehicles and high-octane experiences.

The Local Artist Showcase, an exciting new feature of the festival will welcome six brilliant local artists to exhibit their work across the weekend – each one representing one of six CarFest themes. Artists may submit a completed piece or propose the creation of a new artwork. The selected six artists will each showcase one impactful, theme-based piece which will be exhibited to tens of thousands of festivalgoers over the CarFest weekend.

The Local Artist Showcase invites painters, sculptors, illustrators, photographers and multi-disciplinary creators to share their work with tens of thousands of festival-goers. Submissions are welcomed from artists living or working in Hampshire, or those who have a strong connection with Hampshire.

With a special focus on community-engaged, evolving, and sustainable works, the showcase aims to champion creativity that reflects the spirit of the region. Whether established or emerging, artists selected will have a unique platform to reach new audiences and take part in an unforgettable weekend celebrating arts, music, cars, food, and wellbeing.

Hampshire is home to CarFest, and we cannot wait to showcase the fantastic artistic talent that the county boasts. We’ve always believed in celebrating the best of our local community, and this new showcase brings that spirit to life in a totally new way.
— Anjna Raheja, Festival Director of CarFest

CarFest is working with Andover-based creative marketing agency, The Local Marketing Company Ltd, to bring the showcase to life.

This is such a unique opportunity to bring local artists into the heart of the CarFest experience. We want bold ideas, passionate storytelling and work that responds to the energy and themes of CarFest. We’re inviting Hampshire’s finest creatives to come forward and show off what they’ve got.
— Dmitrijs Meiksans, Director of The Local Marketing Company

A judging panel of creatives, curators and festival organisers will anonymously review submissions in early July, with all decisions announced mid-July. The selected artists will receive two weekend tickets to the festival, professional photography of their work in situ, and promotion across CarFest’s highly engaged digital platforms.

To ensure the opportunity is accessible to as many creatives as possible, the showcase also offers a limited number of accessibility microgrants. These microgrants are designed to support artists who may face financial, physical or logistical barriers to taking part – helping cover costs such as transport, materials, or other access needs. Applications for microgrants are considered confidentially and separately from the main judging process, and eligible artists can indicate their interest directly within the submission form.

The CarFest Local Artist Showcase represents a fresh and creative addition to a festival already known for its family-friendly atmosphere, live music, delicious food, and charitable spirit. To submit their proposals, artists should visit: www.bit.ly/CarFest-Local-Artist-Showcase
