OUR CLIENTS
CarFest
The national family festival, raising millions of pounds for children’s charities across the UK.
Showcasing art and creativity across Hampshire to tens of thousands of festival goers.
CarFest is the UK’s largest family fundraising festival, founded by Chris Evans. Blending live music, celebrity appearances, cars, food, and wellbeing activities, it raises millions each year for children’s charities while creating a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of culture, creativity, and community.
When CarFest invited us to curate and deliver their very first Local Artist Showcase, we knew it was going to be something special. The goal was simple but ambitious: give artists from across Hampshire and the surrounding region the chance to share their work with tens of thousands of festival goers.
From start to finish, TLMC managed the process - from launching applications right through to on-site delivery and artist care throughout the festival weekend.
The brief
CarFest wanted to add a new cultural strand to their programme: a showcase celebrating emerging and established artists, while giving audiences a fresh experience alongside the music, food and family attractions the festival is famous for.
This meant designing a process that was fair, engaging, and accessible for artists, and ensuring their work would be seen, appreciated, and supported by the CarFest audience.
Our approach
We handled every stage of the project.
Applications & artist liaison
We curated an artist pack, terms & conditions, a judging brief, and a clear timeline. We managed enquiries, offered feedback to unsuccessful applicants, and helped successful ones prepare risk assessments and installation plans.
Marketing & outreach
Ran a paid Facebook and Instagram paid and organic campaign targeting artist demographics.
Designed and printed leaflets & posters, distributed to arts organisations across Hampshire, including art schools in Winchester and Portsmouth.
Networked directly with arts organisations, delivering materials by hand and by post, and phoning to encourage them to share the opportunity with their artists.
On-site support
Present for numerous days prior to opening, attending operations meetings and assisting with artist installation.
Assisted one artist installing on Wednesday and four more on Thursday.
On site every day during the festival to troubleshoot, reassure and ensure artists were supported.
Designed and produced artist signage with QR codes linking to online artist profiles.
The impact
The Local Artist Showcase added a fresh dimension to CarFest, shining a spotlight on creativity and giving artists an economic and professional platform alongside the cultural one. For us, it was a joy to deliver, and for the artists, it was an unforgettable experience.
“Thank You – the art installations were really fantastic and I believe added something very special this year […] thank you for your insight, patience and support.”
